Kuma Stoves
We’re proud to offer Kuma Stoves, made in America! Installing a high efficiency EPA rated stove will save money in reduced heating costs while gently using a renewable resource.
The Process
We’ll start with a conversation about your project. We’ll try to give you a general ballpark cost at that time. The next step is an appointment for a site visit, although in some cases we can collect enough information by phone to get started. We can help you select the right stove for your home and we’ll present a quote with all parts and labor for the stove and chimney. A parts deposit is required upon acceptance of the contract, with the labor portion due upon completion of the work. Once your deposit is collected, we’ll get your parts ordered. We’ll often schedule the work as soon as all parts have arrived. A typical timeline may be as quick as a few weeks (about one month) but we can also move at a slower pace, whatever is best for you!

La Plata Chimney and Fireplace Services
Chimney Sweeping – We clean all wood burning appliances and we also service service pellet stoves. Pellet stoves should be serviced once for every ton of fuel burned. In our Colorado climate, that can often be more than once per year. La Plata Chimney and Fireplace will clean and adjust the stove and entire combustion system from the firebox to chimney exit, check and clean the feeder, clean the blower and ventilation fans, and safety check all electronics to ensure continued safe and efficient operation. During all our cleaning services, we ensure safe operation of all combustion stoves so your family can stay warm and safe! See our chimney sweeping page for additional details, or contact us for any questions, or book your appointment online.
Installation – We feature Kuma Stoves. They’re highly efficient, American made, extremely high quality stoves that you can rely on for years of service. We’re the only dealer of Kuma in Durango, so look no further when planning your new or replacement stove. We also install fireplace inserts. Contact us and let us know about your project, don’t spend another winter worrying about the heating bill. Switch to a new Kuma stove and stay warm and cozy year-round. Contact us to get started.
Repair – Damage from a storm or is your system in need of repair from years of service? We can help! Each repair job is different but we pride ourselves on out-pricing our competitors, typically by thousands of dollars. We never sacrifice safety when making a repair, but we’ll work with your situation and get you back up and running as soon as possible.
